BRT is awesome!!!

Me and my kid toured a new BRT bus and I have never been more excited about an infrastructure project. Here are the highlights:

  • Madison got a $110 million federal grant to build this. This is a jump for joy moment. Enjoy it!

  • The new Tap to Pay system is super slick. You can board in the front or rear and buy your single pass or reload on the platform.

  • Platform is covered and heated with the touch of a button. NICE!

  • Cool accessibility tech.

  • Boarding at grade is super nice. Also just walk your bike onto the bus and use the bike area (good for instagram photos too)

  • What can be funner that rocking out to your favorite playlist in the single seat that rotates on this accordion bus!?!?

  • Our most dangerous roads have been put on a road diet and just like taking the blue line in Chicago, you can watch the cars stand still as you zoom by.

I know change is hard and we are city full of people with great ideas on how to improve projects. But let's not let the naysayers drown out the projects that are actually making progress towards climate change goals. The hype is real.
